Ski Day #2 CANCELLED - Feb. 8
Dear Parents/Guardians, I am contacting you to share some disappointing news. The ski trip planned for Friday, February 8 is being cancelled due to lack of bus drivers. Across the province, bus companies are experiencing staff shortages. At this point in time, the bus company believes it can fulfill its obligation to transport our students on February 22. Our office staff have attempted to contact other bus companies and we have been informed by some companies that they are unable to assist or that we will be charged an additional $2,500.00 to transport students. We will be refunding families either through an e-transfer if you paid on-line or by cheque if you paid in cash or cheque. We will delay refunding families until we are 100% sure we are able to participate on February 22. Thank you for your understanding. Respectfully Cindy Alce

OPH Immunization
Ottawa Public Health (OPH) Immunization All children attending school between ages 4 to 17 need to be immunized according to Ontario's Immunization Schedule. Under the Immunization of School Pupils Act, students attending school in Ontario are required to be vaccinated against nine (9) diseases or have a valid exemption. Parents are required to report all immunizations done at the doctor's office to OPH. Under this Act, OPH has the authority to suspend from attending school students for whom OPH does not have a record of immunization. Parents/guardians of these intermediate and secondary students received written notice from OPH in the mail by November 21st. Suspension orders are scheduled to be mailed to households on January 25th, 2019 (Grades 7 - 12) and scheduled to be enforced on February 20th, 2019. Parents seeking more information can contact OPH by phoning 613-580-6744 or visit Learn more here.

Parenting in Ottawa - Vaping
Parenting in Ottawa’s Facebook page is a great resource for parents. Every day a new topic is presented and a nurse is available to answer questions and private messages (during business hours). January 23 will be a day devoted to vaping. We realize this is an issue of concern for many parents and schools alike. This will be a great opportunity for parents and educators to engage with our guest with questions or to just simply join the conversation and gain new insights.
